3 Parks Initiative Update 2009
Update on 3 Parks & how you can get involved

2010 has been a busy year for the 3 Parks Initiative of your Community Foundation, with a fall opening planned for Railroad Park, monthly hikes at Red Mountain Park and a “green” award for the new Treetop Education Center at Ruffner Mountain Nature Center. Area businesses and foundations committed some $15 million in 2007 and 2008, sparked by a $1 million challenge grant from your Community Foundation.

We continue to administer pledge payments from the campaign, and an advisory committee of community representatives reviews that process. Find out more from the individual parks about on-going fundraising or click on the PDF file for a report that includes material provided by all three park organizations at the end of 2009, along with details on how you can get in touch with key staff at each park for more information.
